Sure brings back memories

I don't really know where to start with this review, so it might look a bit random or blocky.

First of all, I love the original, and you do it justice with this remix :)
I don't listen to this style of trance that much anymore, and have sadly grown abit tired of it :(
Your style reminds me somewhat of Rank 1.

I don't have to mention the mastering since it's perfect as always. So I got to ask, what do you use in the master chanel? Parametric EQ2?
The choice of synths, sounds, fxs are very well done.
I love the filtered intro. I usually filter kicks/cymbals, basslines and synths for intros and build ups myself.

This remix is not as uplifting as the original, in my opinion. Which is not bad.
I think this is more powerfull and a somewhat mix between dreamtrance and uplifting trance.

I enjoyed listening to this remix alot, even though I don't overall enjoy uplifting trance that much anymore.

So thanks for sharing this song with us NG people ^^

TerraNation responds:

i usely leave the master channel empty or basic use Fl studio balance meter, and keep the volym on 0dp kinda basic mastering metods.

hahaha :D

ooh man, this is one hilarious, but awesome song xD

That voice makes me laugh so hard :P
The choice of synths and melodies were pretty awesome, and I love the beat and atmoshere it got :D

Semaphore responds:

you had to see my friends face as I showed him the song xD

that was the real OOOOOHHHHBEEEELLLISK =D

special thx to ya Krussi

Rodina?

The melody is "Naksi vs Brunner - Rodina" for sure :P
So in my opinion the title whould be "Naksi vs Brunner - Rodina (Beatsource remix)"

Well, now that I got that out of the way... The remix itself is very nicley done, I started on one myself some months ago or so, with a house/electro twist. Didn't complete it though.

I like the russian automosphere this remix have and it's very different from both the original and the "Megara Vs Dj Lee" remix.

Ethalyn responds:

Nah, actually it's from an old russian folk song called Rodina... so your smugyness is kind of annoying.

Well, thanks, for the 'review, i guess.

Sure is groovy :D

Good things first, awesome samples, funky beat, great atmosphere.
I didn't fancy one of the basses though, the one that comes in at 00:33 to be exact.
Feels a bit out of place imo.

You've got a pretty awesome concept going on here :D reminds me of balkan house music, with their classical instruments combined with electro sounds and beats.

I hope you'll extend this song and give it even more awesomeness :P

Keep up the good work LK

Hahaha it was really late at night and the bass sounded good at the time XD

I'll definitely extend this if i gt some inspiration :D

Thanks for the review man :D

oooh damn!!

This is one mighty fine song :D

at first I thought it was going to be one of those mediocre remixes, but hell was I wrong :D You never dissapoints your fans SkyMarshall and you never cease to amaze me :D

Pretty cool lyrics but I'm not that much of a fan of autotune/vocoder voices :P
The mastering and EQing is superb as always, the beat, the bass, the choice of sounds and synths are perfect.
I loved the part at 1:10, gives the song good variation.

Anyhow, keep up the awesome work 'cause your songs are really amazing :D

Wow!

I really like the structure of the song, and I love the chords progression, since I use them quite often myself :P The synth melody is awesome and I love the arp-ish melody at 02:34.

The things I should change in the song is the ending and the intro. I whould have given the intro 1 sec of silence or a reverse fx right before the piano starts, and I whould make it end at 03:15.

The mixing ain't bad in my opinion, but it could be better and I'd suggest that you render/export it in higher bitrate, I'd guess it's rendered at 128 - 160 kbit bitrate. So try and render your songs in higher bitrate, like 224 - 320 to give the song a higher sound quality :)

Anyhow, awesome song, I like it alot and good job man :D

Airprogressive responds:

wow! thanks 4 your review and support Krussi!

Yeah, the song is rendered at 160 kbit. for next songs i'll try to do, as you said at, 320

Mellow and sweet :)

First of all, I like the cuteness and sweetness in the piano and violin parts, it gives the song a sweet and mellow feeling to it.
I haven't heard the original, but this sounds awesome eighter way.
I don't think you should give it any more punch, I think it's pretty nice as it is ^^

Umh, regarding mixing/mastering, I'd suggest that you use a FL Parametric EQ 2 in the master channel, and remove Fruity Limiter if there is one in the master channel. Play around a bit with the "points" in Parametric EQ 2 until it sounds as you want it to.

well, almost full score from me ^^

BCCB responds:

Thanks for the review! I really appreciate the tips and the listen!

As always, the piano <333

The piano melody is amazingly catchy, cute and pretty damn romantic somehow :D

As la-yinn wrote, the transistions are a bit off. Some reverb on the chimes whould make it sound a bit softer and make it so the fx don't end so abruptly.
But seriously, this is a great loop as it is and I'd love to hear a full length song of it! :D

Let me know if or when you make this into a full length song :D

8/10 (cause I really, REALLY want to hear it as a full length song)

Keep up the awesome work Mel :D

that's pretty damn hot :D

as the TehGrunt wrote, the minute I started listening I fell in love with it :D

The melody is very catchy and original. The bass and kick could be a bit stronger or more clear, but that's just a matter of EQing ^^
I think it whould sound a bit better if you exported/rendered it in higher bitrate, since it's only 2.2 mb large, so I presume its like 128 kbit bitrate.

as far as the song it self, I got no complains and it sounds awesome :P just work some on the EQing and mastering and you'll be on frontpage in no time ^^

DjJYo responds:

Hey Krussi, Thanks a ton for the review!!!! Im messing a lot with the parametric EQ 2 thing you told me about! Im gonna try to import that into the songs i have up now and upcoming songs! Thanks again!!!!!! i really appreciate it!!!

J-Yo

ooooooh daaaaamn man :D

this sure is one awesome piece of music!

The intro and chord progression on the bell-ish pad are amazing, but where this song really shines is at 01:15. I mean, I want to have sex with that bass and bear it's children. This is some pro stuff, I'd love to hear this song being played at a club :D
It doesn't sound repeative as some house songs can sound, and the build is very good :P
